Cigar Tasting- Partagas 1845

Partagas 1845 is an exciting new take on one of the world’s most iconic premium cigar brands.

As the first new collection to follow the critically-acclaimed Benji Menendez Partagas Master Series, Partagas 1845 is a departure from the traditional Cameroon-wrapped expressions of the brand. This new collection embodies 167 years of heritage and expert cigar making. In fact, the legendary Benji Menendez called Partagas 1845 “one of the most significant blends I have ever been involved in developing.”

Wrapper: Ecuadoran Habano
Lustrous, with a unique color and hearty texture, the viso wrapper reveals distinct flavor nuances at different occasions during the smoking experience.

Binder: Connecticut Habano
Extremely sweet and extremely strong, this proprietary binder spent nine years in development. A product of General Cigar’s dedicated research and development initiative, it imparts an optimal balance to the wrapper and filler tobacco.

Filler: Dominican & Nicaraguan Ligero & Seco
Cultivated in three distinct growing areas, select Nicaraguan fillers are aged in Dominican rum barrels, a proprietary process which enhances their aroma.

This delicious cigar is available in the following 5 sizes:
  • Corona Extra Size: 4 1/2 x 46
  • Robusto Size: 5 1/2 x 49
  • Gigante Size: 6 x 60
  • Toro Grande Size: 6 1/4 x 54
  • Double Corona Size: 7 1/4 x 54
Partagas 1845 is full-flavored with a medium-bodied taste profile. Bearing hints of coffee and cocoa, this unique smoking experience sits firmly between the mild and aromatic flavor of classic Partagas and the strong, sweet taste of Partagas Black Label.

All of the tobaccos used in Partagas 1845 undergo lengthy aging and fermentation. As such, this rich and complex smoke is destined to appeal to the most discriminating of premium cigar smokers.

Cigar Tasting- La Flor Dominicana DL-700

I reached into my humidor today and grabbed a cigar that I used to smoke religiously and a brand that not a lot of people know about- but should! The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero.

La Flor Dominicana was founded by Litto Gomez in 1996 in Santiago, Dominican Republic.Over the years they have developed an impressive portfolio of cigar lines and new cigar shapes- the wildly popular chisel. The company was started and is currently owned by cigar maker Litto Gomez Diez, who was called by Cigar Aficionado "arguably the most innovative mind in the cigar business." The name of the brand was inspired by the flower of the tobacco plant which signifies that the growing cycle is complete and the plant is ready for reproduction.

Introduced in 2003 the La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero (DL) line features 2 Ligero leafs. The Ligero leaf is found near the top of each tobacco plant. Slower to mature than the seco leaves found at the middle of the plant or the easy-burning volado leaves at the bottom, ligero leaves are characterized by a coarse texture and produce smoke with a potent, spicy taste. While most full bodied cigars contain 1 ligero Leaf this cigar has 2- double the fun!

At the core of this great cigar is a robust blend of Dominican tobacco including 1 ligero leaf. These leafs are bound by another Dominican ligero leaf and finished off with a very oily and flavorful Ecuadorian sun-grown wrapper.

Enough with the boring history and botany lessons lets get down to business and how it smokes.

This is a FULL flavored cigar with excellent construction and complexity. There is A LOT of creamy flavors in this cigar! It has a very satisfying spice that will tingle your lips as you smoke it along with some great cedar, coffee, nuts, cocoa, and a touch of molasses.

This is a must try and the best part about this super premium cigar is the price! Averaging $7 a stick this is a cigar that will not leave your pockets empty!

Happy Smoking Friends!

Coming Soon: Cohiba Commador

Hello Cohiba Fans,

Cohiba is one of, if not, the most popular name in the cigar industry. Even non-cigar smoker recognize the name Cohiba. This legendary cigar

maker is releasing a brand new line of cigars called the Cohiba Comador.

Fittingly, the biggest name in hip-hop has teamed up with Cohiba to release this special-edition smoke in a unique partnership. Jay-Z released a statement saying, "I worked with Cohiba because I knew they'd take my vision of a luxury cigar and bring it to life in the right way. We took our time working on this, to get the blend to exactly where I wanted it to be. Comador looks and tastes the way I think a cigar should."

Cohiba's master blenders spent two years developing Comador's elegant taste which is derived from the finest tobacco. Only proprietary leaves from the most acclaimed Caribbean and Central American growing regions is worthy of comprising the blend of filler tobacco. This blend is then wrapped using a hand-selected Connecticut Broadleaf binder and wrapped with the Comador's Crown jewel- The Connecticut Havana wrapper.

The Connecticut Havana wrapper is the most rare and most expensive wrapper on the market. In the 1700's Cuban tobacco seeds were brought and acclimatized in New England. Through 20 years of rigorous selection and breeding, the seed has been refined and polished by Cohiba's  team of agronomists. The Comador marks the first time this leaf is used in a cigar.

I am happy to say that we have been selected by General Cigars to carry this product and I will have more information soon.
